ClassX Adopts NewTek™ NDI™ for IP Production Workflow
May 30th, 2016 – ClassX, the leading Italian company that has been developing software for real-time Broadcast Graphics for the past 25 years, today announced its adoption of NewTek’s open Network Device Interface (NDI™) standard for IP-based production workflows for its LiveBoard product.
With NDI enabled, LiveBoard will be recognizable as a source by other NDI-enabled devices and systems connected to a standard Ethernet local area network, exponentially increasing the number of video sources available for live production.
With the adoption of the groundbreaking NewTek's NDI technology, ClassX moves its customer's productivity to fast, reliable, flexible IP workflows. The production is there, inside the Ethernet cable:
- No need for SDI cards.
- Reduce costs and time.
- Forget about hardware incompatibilities, drivers, SDI switchers and routers.
NDI is more than a simple stream. Every NDI source has a unique name, supports audio/video and metadata in the same stream, it's incredibly fast and efficient. Many users can connect to the same source, so that its contents can freely be distributed over the network.
There's no need to spend extra money. In order to use NDI, customers can already use their equipment and the free production Tools Pack from NewTek.
ClassX proudly supports NDI from its first implementation and gives full support and integration with NewTek products. Owners of TriCaster™ multi-camera video production systems can count on ClassX built-in TC macros support.
This new standard for live production IP workflow is bi-directional and backwards compatible with a large number of devices from top manufacturers already utilizing NewTek’s open protocol allowing IP connectivity between devices. LiveBoard will be part of the NewTek Developer Network, the industry’s largest ecosystem of IP-enabled products using the same standard.
Our customers are already enjoying the advanced Macro integration between ClassX and NewTek products. Now, with the adoption of NDI into ClassX v6 solutions, we're able to offer TriCaster, TalkShow and 3Play customers even more advanced solutions to manage graphics automation with the productivity and the flexibility that only an IP workflow can offer." - Moshe Zafrany, NMP Solutions LTD., Israel
We are confident that IP workflows will revolutionize video production,” said Michael Kornet, executive vice president of Business Development for NewTek. “ClassX is highly respected both at NewTek and within the industry. By ClassX enthusiastically embracing NDI, best-of-breed products like LiveBoard help make NDI the most widely adopted IP standard on the market in the hands of customers today.”
NDI is now available as a royalty free software developer kit (SDK) for any company looking to establish IP workflows within their organization, or in production tools and systems they manufacture.
